Pastor Cindy Privette ("the preacher woman") came as supply pastor to Anchor of Hope and Galena Presbyterian Churches in 2003 and was installed as permanent pastor in June, 2005.
Cindy taught high school English for nine years before she felt God's call to go to seminary. Cindy comes from a long line of ministers. Her grandfather and father ministered in Baptist Churches in North Carolina.
In 2014, Cindy earned her Doctorate of Ministry Degree from BTSR in Richmond.
Cindy received her Bachelor and Master of Education Degrees at University of Louisville and her Master of Divinity degree at Baptist Theological Seminary in Richmond. Cindy has three grown children and six grandchildren: Son Travis is married to Leanna and live in in Missoula, Montana. They have three children, Walker is 9 and Cash is 6 and Baby Tyler resides in heaven with Jesus. one of who is in heaven with Jesus (Tyler).
Daughter Tara lives with husband in Newnan, Georgia with three children: Ava (9), Maddex (6) and Maylee (5).
Anchor of Hope is fortunate to have talented people within the congregation. Among them is Davy Davis who plays the guitar and sings with leader Cynthia Hurst.) Davy has written several pieces and shared them with us. Among our most favorites is "Loud and Long".
Jane Davis has graciously gives to the Lord her "offering" of beautiful and prepared music both on the piano and organ (which she "pumps" with her feet!)
